Job overview
Pantomime Ward is a 27 bedded Gastroenterology and General Medical Ward. The team is looking for someone who will lead with compassion and clinical expertise. You will need the ability to adopt great communication skills in order to sustain and continue to develop the ward further.
As the Ward Manager you will be responsible for managing the ward, promoting a positive patient and staff experience and leading on the delivery of excellent nursing care. This role requires close working relationships with a wide range of people including the Multi-Disciplinary Team, Consultants, Heads of Nursing, Matrons and other Ward Managers.
Alongside the clinical continuous professional development, the successful candidate can expect to develop both their leadership and managerial skillset. Overseeing a vibrant team and supporting their practice through a strong clinical presence. Striving to achieve both local and National objectives.

Main duties of the job
§ Continuous responsibility for the twenty-four hour management of nursing on the Acute Surgical / Medical ward.
§ Responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care for all patients within designated areas.
§ Accountable for the quality of care delivered within clinical area by nursing
§ Work collaboratively and co-operatively with others to develop services provided for patients within clinical area.
