Consultant Admiral Nurse - Young Onset Dementia

Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nursing charity that is there for the whole family. Our specialist nurses, known as Admiral Nurses, provide free, expert advice, support and understanding to help families care for their loved one. About the role
Interview date: either Tuesday 20th May or Thursday 22nd May (virtual)

Dementia UK is seeking a Consultant Admiral Nurse - Young Onset Dementia to provide expert clinical advice and support to families.
As part of our team, you will provide strategic, professional, and clinical leadership in Admiral Nursing, contributing to educational programmes and developing resources to raise awareness and promote best practice. You will also ensure that the needs of those affected are represented in national policy, research, and clinical guidance.
Clinical support can be delivered via telephone, online, and in clinics, and you will dedicate a minimum of 25% of your time carrying out this essential work. In collaboration with healthcare and social care partners, you will offer specialist advice to other Admiral Nurses and professionals across the sector, sharing high-quality education and research. Your leadership skills will be essential in motivating staff at all levels and in developing and leading policy relating to young onset dementia.
To succeed in this role, you will be an Admiral Nurse (or have demonstrable specialist practice in dementia care) with extensive clinical experience of working with adults with young onset dementia, as well as their families, including young carers (both adults and children). You will have experience in clinical supervision of staff, a clear ability to promote best practice, and a track record of contributing to multi-disciplinary teams and evaluating clinical practice.
