Please be advised that there is a temporary top up for Bands 2 and 3 to reflect the incorporation of the top up to the living wage of £12.60 per hour - £24,638 per annum.

This temporary top up will be in place until the annual pay uplift for 2025/26 is confirmed.

 

Job overview

We are seeking a Personal Assistant to join the Microbiology team based at Glangwili hospital in Carmarthen. Candidates will need to be enthusiastic, well-motivated and innovative. Have well developed interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to lead and support individual and team working. 

Main duties of the job

To provide comprehensive and confidential personal assistant (PA) support to Consultants, Medical Staff and Scientists in Microbiology.

The post holder is required to communicate across directorates, with staff and stakeholders and produce a high standard of work to meet deadlines, whilst ensuring compliance with Public Health Wales policies.

Essential criteria
  • Word processing to RSA III, NVQ Level 3 or relevant equivalent experience
  • High level of numeracy and written and spoken English.

Experience

  • Demonstrable proven experience of working as a PA or equivalent
  • Minute taking and recording

  • Audio typing
  • Working in an NHS environment

Skills

  • Planning and organisational skills
