Clinical Lead

Clinical Lead

12 months contract offered on a secondment or fixed term basis

Hours: 37.5. Applications will be considered from individuals who wish to work part-time or on a job share basis.

Salary: £47,000 to £58,000 dependent on experience

The Resuscitation Council UK (RCUK) is seeking an experienced clinician to join its Clinical Lead team. This is a 12-month, fixed-term position that can be offered as a secondment or a fixed-term contract. While the role is full-time, applications from individuals interested in part-time work or job sharing are welcome. This opportunity is ideal for someone looking to enhance their skills within a charitable organisation dedicated to resuscitation practice and education while continuing their clinical practice.

At RCUK we support clinicians delivering care for patients of all ages, and in a broad range of settings, including community care and out-of-hospital practice.  As such, we want our team to reflect this and be drawn from this community of practice.  There is no set background required for the role beyond being able to demonstrate commitment to resuscitation practice within an area of specialism, which is likely to include working at the advanced practice level.

The successful candidate may come from a Resuscitation Practitioner background but could equally be involved in resuscitation practice and education within an acute hospital department, community or out-of-hospital setting.  You do not need to have resuscitation experience across all age ranges, and we would particularly welcome applications from those with specialist knowledge and experience in newborn or paediatric life support.

If you would like to be part of a team that influences, helps drive direction and manages RCUK's highly regarded, internationally recognised life support courses and clinical guidelines. You would be joining the team as we work towards publishing Guidelines 2025 and update course content across our range of educational products.

As an expert and key clinical resource, you will advise and support the resuscitation community, NHS Trusts, Health Boards, healthcare organisations, partner organisations and key stakeholders, as well as offering clinical guidance and expertise to members of the public.

You will have an operational overview of RCUK courses, including developing resources to promote ongoing training and education in resuscitation science. They will also assist in developing clinical guidance to ensure the objectives and strategic aims of the organisation are met.   Additionally, they will offer clinical advice and guidance where appropriate to members of the public, patients and their families.

At RCUK we are keen to attract the best candidates from a wide range of professions that are involved in resuscitation practice.  We would expect the successful candidate to be an active RCUK Instructor and have involvement in resuscitation practice or education as part of their current job role.  We are a small team of committed clinicians who work in close partnership to best support the resuscitation community and their patients. If you would bring new energy, expertise and support to our work, we want to hear from you.

The position offers hybrid working, with the successful candidate required to be in the office at least one day per week.

The closing date for receipt of completed applications is 12 midnight, Friday 4th April 2025.

Interviews will be held in person on Thursday 17th April 2025.

Important information

This is a 12-month fixed-term opportunity. If your application is successful, you will join the Resuscitation Council UK on either a secondment or a fixed-term basis. Approval from your primary organisation will be required for any secondment arrangement. During the secondment or fixed-term contract, you will be contracted with the Resuscitation Council UK.
