An exciting opportunity is now available  to work within our Learning and Development Team!

You will work very closely with the Integrated Safeguarding Team and with a broad range of stakeholders from across Sirona.

You will support staff to identify and access training opportunities to achieve expected compliance and take the lead on promoting a Safeguarding culture through development of training initiatives and opportunities to meet local and national policy.

We are looking for someone with a passion for training, safeguarding  and quality improvement and who enjoys working as part of a wider friendly team. 

Main duties of the job

  • To work closely with the Learning and Development team, service managers and clinicians to make quality improvements to services which will ensure the development of a positive, proactive, safeguarding culture.

  • To provide leadership with respect to supporting staff identifying and accessing training safeguarding training opportunities to achieve expected compliance.

  • Ensure that Safeguarding practices and quality improvement programmes are based on current policies, are centred on sound safeguarding research and evidence base.

  • Lead on the development, implementation and reporting of clinical audit and surveillance programmes.

  • To proactively identify areas of risk to programme delivery, recommending actions and developing plans to assist implementation.

  • To support the delivery of quality improvement programmes through assessing, interpreting complex data, comparing a range of options, and making subsequent recommendations, or changes and applying these skills to quality improvement of Safeguarding.

  • To ensure the delivery of national and local targets appropriate to Sirona business requirements /  expectations related to safeguarding.

  • To provide support through teaching, mentoring and training staff in developing and applying safeguarding practice in order to improve service quality and performance against quality and performance indicators

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered Practitioner e.g. RGN, RSCN, HV, HCPC
  • Educated to degree level / working towards Masters qualification in area relevant to Safeguarding
  • Evidence of continuous professional development within the sphere of safeguarding
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working in a community setting
  • Management of complex healthcare change/quality improvement projects

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Extensive post-registration experience across a range of safeguarding contexts
  • Knowledge/experience of leading organisational wide projects related to Safeguarding
  • Currently or has previously worked in a safeguarding specific role for a minimum of two years
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Children Act (1989, 2004), Care Act (2014) and all associated legislation related to safeguarding such as MCA (2005), Domestic Abuse Act (2021), FGM Act (2014)
  • Teaching qualification/experience
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of Project management for example Prince 2
  • Operational Management experience
