Job overview

We have an exciting new opportunity for a full-time Band 3 Speech and Language Therapy Technical Instructor in our adult team based in Wrexham. You will support adults who have a range of communication and swallowing difficulties, in a variety of clinical settings – in hospital, clinics or at home, working under the guidance and supervision of our experienced and supportive qualified SLTs, and joining our growing team of skilled and experienced technical instructors.

Main duties of the job

Previous experience of working with adults with communication and/or swallowing difficulties is desirable. With our training and support, you will develop your role working independently with patients, with the remote supervision of Speech and Language Therapists. As an SLT technical instructor, you will work with your patients to develop and achieve the goals that are important to them following their assessment with an SLT, using your empathy, compassion and creativity to create meaningful, patient-centred and engaging therapy sessions.

The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team. This job offers rewarding and challenging clinical environments. With high levels of expertise in the team, it also offers learning and development opportunities. We will provide in house training for the successful applicant and regular support and supervision is available to all staff in addition to BCUHB mandatory training.

The ability to travel across Wrexham and Flintshire is essential to this post.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
