Please be advised that there is a temporary top up for Bands 2 and 3 to reflect the incorporation of the top up to the living wage of £12.60 per hour - £24,638 per annum.

Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Ward Clerk to join the Team at Heddfan Unit.

The job of the Ward Clerk is to support with the administrative duties within our inpatient wards and is an integral part of the Nursing and Medical team in supporting high-quality patient care.  

This is a great opportunity to work in and part of the NHS and support your communities with their Health Care. 

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, relatives and visitors to the Ward and must demonstrate a professional and sensitive manner and maintain confidentiality at all times.

Working as part of the Ward Team the post holder will be required to give efficient clerical support to the nursing staff on the Ward.

Applicants must also have a good standard of education, be adaptable and have good organisational skills. A professional telephone manner is essential to receive and respond courteously to all telephone enquiries regarding patient care.

Previous Ward Clerk experience and knowledge of the Patient Administration System (WPAS) is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
