Job overview

We are seeking for  Medicine Division Matron , the opportunity of a seconded Matron  position within the newly structured  division.  Please review the Job description and Person Specification for further detailed information about the role.

Main duties of the job

The post holders will become an integral part of the Divisional operational team and will have nursing managerial oversight responsibility for selected areas within Medicine

The Division has recently been restructured and as such there are opportunities to review the existing Matron portfolios.  We will take this opportunity to encourage individual development and utilise the experience of the successful candidate.  The Division includes Acute Medical Wards, Specialist teams, Older Peoples Services, ED, Oncology and Haematology, Spinal unit, Therapies, Stroke, Rehab services, Hospice and Palliative care.

Applications are encouraged from nursing team members who are highly motivated  leaders and passionate about delivering high quality compassionate care. The post holder will manage service leads and be accountable to the Heads of Nursing for all aspects of the quality of services delivered within their area of responsibility. You will maintain a highly visible professional presence where patients, carers and staff can turn to for assistance, advice and support; and be an active participant within the divisional operational bed management rota. You will also lead and participate in projects and areas of work which will reflect clinical, professional and corporate objectives.
