Locum Consultant Haematologist
Consultant
Job overview
We would like to offer an exciting 12-month contract with a 8 PA post in haematology to support the secondment of one of the existing team. The role would be focused on, but not limited to, paraprotein and general haematology outpatient clinics, inpatient work and on-call duties, general laboratory work and advice & guidance. Further specialist interests can be accommodated.
We would welcome discussions regarding schedules and flexible or part time working.
We would want someone to bring ideas and enthusiasm, and who could thoroughly integrate into our friendly and hard-working team for this time. We would welcome an informal chat.
While this role is initially for a 12-month period, there may be the potential for this to become a substantive post.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will join a cohesive team of 7 Consultant Haematologists, 3 specialty registrars and 5 CNSs to support the delivery of a comprehensive Haematology service at Salisbury Hospital. We are a BCSH Level 3 centre and we are currently developing an entirely in-house autologous stem cell transplant programme.
We work as a very fluid team and would want to incorporate you into that environment to have an enjoyable 12 months.
Applicants must be on the specialist register or have a CCT date within 6 months of the interview date.
The post is advertised as 8 PAs but details of the job plan are open to discussion with the successful applicant. Opportunities for working less than 8 PAs may be possible, by mutual agreement.
