We are looking for a day time Ward Clerk to cover Tuesday to Friday 8am to 6pm.

We are also looking to cover some of our out of hours shifts, Day shift is 08:00- 18:00 and Evening shifts are 18:00 till 24:00.  The roster is completed on a 2 week rotation and shifts available are:

Week 1:  Saturday and Sunday evening shift

Week 2: Friday evening and Saturday day shift

Main duties of the job

As a Band 2 Ward Clerk the main responsibility of the job will be to ensure the appropriate admission, transfer and discharge of patients, using a variety of IT applications such as Lorenzo, Teletracking and Consultant List.  Therefore you must have excellent IT capabilities.  You must have excellent communication skills as you will also be responsible for welcoming patients to the unit and interacting with the public.  Another responsibility is ensuring appropriate ordering of notes, making sure they are filed correctly and sent to the correct place with patients.
