The Bid Writer will support the Bids and Contract Manager to deliver a successful end-to-end tender/bid process. This includes coordinating the tender and contract life cycle and developing comprehensive and professionally written content that articulates our value proposition.
This role will participate fully in the projects and activities of the wider Business Development team to play a pivotal role in securing new opportunities in line with our ambitious business strategy.
We are looking for someone who has a proven track record in bid writing and evidence of winning contracts, or successful funding/grant applications. Growth is a big part of our strategy, and this role will play a vital part in enabling our charity to support more clients across our services.
Main duties of the job
Bids and Contracts Coordination: End-to-end administration and support for the bids/contract activity. Proactively managing the tender portal, reviewing tender specifications, to support bid decision making, and coordinating internal subject matter expert contributions for submissions, before updating tender opportunity logs, and track bid progression.
Bid Writing: To develop and draft bid submissions, working collaboratively with subject matter experts from across the organisation to plan, design and produce high quality responses (including for Expressions of Interest, PQQ’s, ITT’s, call off submissions, and grant funding proposals).

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Stakeholder Engagement: To support the development and maintenance of positive and productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, commissioners, and partners.
Managing Priorities: Perform in an environment where time is critical and collaboration is required across multiple parties, with conflicting availability. Highly effective time management skills are required to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines. Must be capable of working across multiple opportunities simultaneously.
Data-Driven Insights: Maintain the bidding and tendering resources and intelligence, capturing learning from successful and unsuccessful bids/tenders, best practice, and organisation good news stories.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Education to at least a Level 3 standard, or equivalent professional experience.
- Current Driving Licence and use of a vehicle for work purposes.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working in the Adult Social Care sector, with knowledge of current developments and issues in the fields of social care, housing, and/or support services.
Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
