Are you ready for a new challenge in a dynamic and rewarding environment? The Medical HR team at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a proactive, organised, and detail-oriented Medical HR Advisor to join our newly restructured team.

 This exciting role offers variety, with no two days the same, and presents a unique opportunity to work with a dedicated team in an evolving department. As we enhance our service to the medical workforce, we are looking for someone who excels in communication, organisation, and customer service.

Main duties of the job

In partnership with your fellow Medical HR Advisors and with support from the Medical HR Administrator, you will:

  • Rotas: The post holder will build and oversee the Consultant and Resident Doctor on-call rotas, ensuring comprehensive coverage at all required times.
  • Recruitment: Manage recruitment activities within your designated area ensuring a smooth and efficient process, cross reference recruitment need to agency usage within your designated area, have knowledge of and support the localised workforce plans recruitment requirements
  • Agency: Take charge of agency locum operations, including sourcing candidates, negotiating costs within framework rate and ensuring compliance, while supporting completion of all relevant admin to process a booking or extension. 
  • Medical HR Advisory Service: Provide advisory support on non-complex medical T&C's, contracts of employment and leave, ensuring clear communication and guidance in a timely manner - while supporting the localised workforce plan with agency reduction
  • Policy Adherence & Independent Action: Work within established policies and procedures, using your initiative to manage recruitment, agency bookings and T&C's with guidance available when needed.
  • Roster: To ensure a full and accurate roster for your designated area which fully reflects annual leave, sickness absence and any other form of leave, while providing advice and guidance on special leave options and ensuring the most appropriate is utilised when needed.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

Essential criteria
  • Relevant training or experience to diploma or CPP equivalent level.
Desirable criteria
  • Completion of an intermediate level course in human resource, management activity, or office systems or equivalent qualification.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Relevant and significant clerical/administrative experience in a busy office
  • Experience of working within a customer focused environment
  • Experience of maintaining computer and manual records accurately
  • Experience of managing a varied workload, often under pressure
  • Experience of working as a member of a team
  • Ability to understand and follow policies relevant to the role
  • Ability to concentrate frequently when building medical rota's where other conflicting demands may be coming in which is unpredictable.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working within a medical staffing setting
  • Experience of working within the public sector or NHS
  • Knowledge of employment procedures & legislation

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Confident when working with people at all levels, internal or external to the organisation
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office packages
  • Ability to organise work methodically to achieve prescribed deadlines
