Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Clinical OT/Nurse Specialist to join the SEDS Service to April 2026 on a fixed term maternity cover post. We are a passionate multidisciplinary team delivering NICE recommended treatments and aiming to provide the best possible care to adults living with eating disorders.
Previous experience of working with clients with eating disorders is required and we offer considerable in-house and external training opportunities. This is a fantastic opportunity to expand and develop your clinical skills in a specialist team. The post will be supervised by a senior member of the team.
Covering the whole of Sussex, SEDS provides specialist eating disorder services across a large geographical area. With the introduction of remote working, there is scope, where possible, to tailor your working pattern/location to the needs of both the service and you.
Main duties of the job
Key responsibilities of the role:
· The post holder will provide specialist eating disorder assessment and interventions (including delivering evidenced based treatment in group format) to adults with eating disorders in an outpatient setting.
· You will provide NICE recommended therapy for eating disorders (training will be given to the right candidate).
· When required - to provide hospital in reach to colleagues to insure patients with eating disorders are able to access the correct care pathways.
· To champion best practice in Eating Disorders as per MEED/ NICE guidelines.
· To monitor and promote the health of patients with eating disorders.
· To provide supervision to junior members of the team.
· You will at times work autonomously with the support of your professional lead.
· You will be responsible for a small complex clinical caseload.
· You will work closely with the wider team and chair meetings.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Successful applications will be required to have:
· You will be an experienced practitioner who is confident in managing risk. You will be passionate about clinical governance and working as part of a wider MDT.
· A degree/ diploma in Nursing (Both general and mental health nurses are considered for this role) Or a Degree in Occupational therapy.
· Current registration with the NMC as a registered nurse or HPC as an Occupational Therapist
· Experience of working with people with mental health difficulties

- Experience as a Lead Practitioner
