Specialist Dietitian, Long Covid / CFS

Job overview

Are you a dietitian who is passionate about service design and development and would like to work within a compassionate, dynamic,  welcoming MDT?

We are looking to expand our Long covid and Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) service. This will be our first dietitian role.

The Long Covid and CFS team aims to provide a first-class community rehabilitation service to adults in Coventry & Rugby. The post holder will be working in an expanding service with many opportunities for individual and service development.

Main duties of the job

As our Dietitian, you will be responsible for supporting the development and delivery of the Long covid & CFS service including sharing your knowledge with other professions of the MDT.

Providing 1:1 treatment where appropriate, the post holder will be involved in and facilitate discussion through group work and be able to problem solve while set meaningful goals with these patients.  

As part of the Rehabilitation team you will work in a collocated MDT, alongside the Long Covid clinical lead, Occupational therapist, Physiotherapist,  Psychologist, Assistant psychologist , CBT therapist.  We regularly meet with our General medical consultant based at UHCW.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

This is an exciting opportunity for a Dietitian to join an enthusiastic and experienced team of Oncology Specialist Dietitians to work within an established dietetic service.

Who are we? We are a Dietetic Department at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire based just under 10 minutes from the M69/M6 interchange. We are diverse in both skill and experience but also in personnel. We are a department of nearly seventy Dietitians (across Coventry and Rugby Hospitals) whose specialities include gastroenterology, critical care, surgery, stroke, major trauma, oncology, renal, diabetes, specialist weight management, paediatrics and community nutrition support. We also provide student placements to neighbouring universities in Coventry and Birmingham. As a department we are actively involved in both research and audit and actively encourage staff to identify and attend courses relevant to their role and future development.
