Senior Specialist Dietitian – Renal
NHS AfC: Band 7
Job overview
Permanent part-time Band 7 Renal Senior Specialist Dietitian (0.4WTE)
This is an exciting opportunity to support the leadership of an experienced renal dietetic team of approx. 8 WTE renal Dietitians and a renal dietetic assistant Practioner. In addition, you will be providing band 7 dietetic support within the department and have a leadership role within the wider dietetic team.
Main duties of the job
To be considered for this post it is essential that you have substantial band 6 renal dietetic experience, and expertise in renal specialist areas such as satellite dialysis unit cover, peritoneal disease, pre-dialysis and kidney transplantation will be considered very useful for this role.
The ability to work autonomously is essential for this role, but you will also be supported by a renal dietetic operation lead and renal service lead.
As part of your role, you will take a lead in the development of the renal dietetic service and will be supported closely with your band 7 colleagues. This will include areas such as audit, clinical guidelines, renal team meetings & business planning.
One of these working days should be a Monday, due to the lack of band 7 renal dietetic cover on this day, but there will be some flexibility with the additional day.
