Job overview

Swansea Bay University Health Board Radiology services are provided on three main sites: Morriston (Swansea), Singleton (Swansea) and Neath Port Talbot Hospitals. 

We are looking to appoint a Band 6 Diagnostic Radiographer to support Radiology theatre & general services on the Neath Port Talbot site, joining the busy multidisciplinary teams there. You should be a qualified Diagnostic Radiographer with current HCPC registration. 

Main duties of the job

This role will involve General & Theatre Radiology areas and will include any necessary training, allowing you to complement our existing team. Your duties will incorporate inclusion in the main out-of-hours rota. You should have substantial experience within Radiography, be BSc / DCR qualified, be able to demonstrate evidence of organisational and leadership skills and be able to work both autonomously and as part of a team. This role will require the post holder to liaise with Theatre, organise the radiography theatre team, and be the RPS (Radiation Protection Supervisor) for theatre. 

The busy, friendly and supportive Departments within the Health Board perform a wide range of plain film x-ray procedures, Nuclear Medicine, Fluoroscopy, Angiography, Theatre, Cardiology, MRI and CT. The Department is committed to providing training and development for all staff. All Radiographers are involved with teaching undergraduate student Radiographers from the University Hospital of Wales.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience undertaking CT and /or MRI imaging and general radiography
  • Has up to date CPD portfolio
  • Knowledge of clinical governance and its application in Radiology departments

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Diploma of College Of Radiographers in BSc in Radiography or equivalent
  • State Registration –HCPC
  • Postgraduate Certificate in CT or MRI or able to able to demonstrate the equivalent level of knowledge, skills and experience
