Job overview

We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist with Neuropsychology expertise to provide in to the specialist Neuro Rehabilitation Unit (NRU) based at Neath Port Talbot Hospital. The post holder will be expected to provide a clinical service to people on the ward and to their families/carers, using their neuropsychological assessment, formulation and neuro rehab skills. They will work collaboratively with Multi Disciplinary staff on the unit and Community Teams across the Swansea Bay and Hywel Dda regions to help ensure continuity of care for this group of people who will transition into community. The post holder will join a team of Medics, Nurses, Physio, OT and SLT. The NRU provides rehabilitation to people post traumatic and acquired brain injury.

Main duties of the job

The role will involve direct clinical work with people on the unit and their families. There will also be opportunities for indirect work including consultation, MDT discussions and formulation, training and staff interventions including reflective practice groups.  The post holder will have the opportunity to demonstrate outcomes and contribute to the wider HB rehabilitation framework initiative led by therapies and health sciences.

The post holder will join a friendly and supportive network of psychologists working in a range of specialties across Mental Health, Learning Disabilities and Physical Health.
