Job overview

The Blood Sciences Department at East Surrey Hospital is part of Berkshire & Surrey Pathology Services (BSPS). BSPS comprises St Peters Hospital Chertsey, Royal Surrey County, Frimley Park, Wexham Park, East Surrey and The Royal Berkshire hospitals. It provides diagnostic pathology services for the 5 hospitals and surrounding GPs serving a population of over 2 million people. Current activity for BSPS is approximately 40 million tests a year with a workforce of over 1000 staff.

We are looking for a self-motivated and versatile individual who can work well under pressure and in challenging conditions. You will be methodical and well organised with the ability to prioritise workload and have experience of working in a busy and demanding environment.  Flexibility with your working hours is essential as you will work outside your core hours when required.

Good concentration levels and attention to detail are essential. You must have a very good standard of spoken and written English as you will be communicate daily by telephone, face to face, or e-mail to a diverse group of service users.

This is an interesting and rewarding position that will suit a person that likes to be busy and will care about the service we provide.

No experience is required as full training will be given.  Travel to other BSPS Pathology sites may be required on occasion.
