Extensive experience in a UKAS accredited clinical Microbiology Laboratory
Involvement in managing staff and workload

Experience with a wide range of Microbiological and molecular biology diagnostic techniques.

Experience in application and monitoring of UKAS standards.
Experience in demonstrating leadership qualities

Education and Qualifications

Essential criteria

HCPC registered biomedical scientist
FIBMS (Microbiology) or MSc (in Medical Microbiology or Molecular Microbiology or equivalent) or IBMS Higher Specialist Diploma (Microbiology) or level 7 Apprenticeship or equivalent extensive experience with a commitment to obtain a level 7 qualification.
IBMS Specialist portfolio (Microbiology) or equivalent
Evidence of continual professional development

Desirable criteria

Further Management training.

Commitment to complete and maintain Mandatory training and required laboratory competences
Ability to plan, prioritise and allocate work and work under pressure.
