Job overview
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Receptionist to join our dynamic Restorative Outpatient Department. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with experience in reception and administration. The role will be based across at Charles Clifford Dental Hospital
The ideal candidate will bring a flexible and adaptable approach to their work, as the role may involve a variety of tasks to support the smooth operation of our department. While previous experience in a hospital or healthcare environment is desirable, it is not essential, as full training and support will be provided to the right candidate.
This position offers the chance to work in a fast-paced and rewarding setting, where you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient delivery of services within the Restorative Reception team.
Main duties of the job
- Coordinate patient appointments using various communication methods (phone, email, text, etc.), offering choice of dates, times, and locations, and confirming all details, including special requirements (e.g., transport, interpreters).
- Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring demographic details are up-to-date and all interactions are recorded in relevant IT systems (e.g., Lorenzo, CRIS, ICE) to ensure a full audit trail.
- Uphold patient confidentiality and comply with all Sheffield Teaching Hospitals policies, procedures, and guidelines, including mandatory training requirements.

Essential criteria
- GCSE at Grade C/4 in English and Maths (or equivalent qualifications) or equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
- NVQ Level II in Business Administration / Customer Service / IT
Experience

- Experience of working within an office environment
- Experience of working in a public facing role.
Desirable criteria
- Relevant experience within the NHS
Further Training
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of / experience of using information and/or customer service systems.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including Outlook, Excel and Word.
