An opportunity has arisen to join the Financial Management Department as an Assistant Management Accountant at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will provide support to the Finance Managers in the provision of a high quality financial management service (information and advice), by being responsible for the accuracy and timely production of Cost Centre Reports within the Directorate. This will include pro-actively liaising with operational Budget Managers, Clinicians and Consultants to provide financial advice and information consistent with Accounting policies, standards and STH Standing Financial Instructions.
Main duties of the job
- To work under their own initiative with minimal supervision in carrying out their main duties and responsibilities.
- To assist in the development of Management Accounting systems and procedures to ensure the optimum use of resources available.
- To support the Senior Finance staff in the team in the production of Directorate Financial Plans which are based on accurate budget and expenditure statements.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- 5 GCSEs including Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent qualification / experience)
- 2 A Levels at Grade C or above (or equivalent qualification / experience)
- Equivalent qualifications include AAT, CCAB Part Qualified and overseas equivalents of GCSEs and A Levels.
Desirable criteria
- 3 or more A Levels at grade C or above (or equivalent qualification / experience)
- A levels in Accountancy, Business Studies, Mathematics at grade C or above (or similar)
- AAT qualified or CCAB/CIMA Part qualified or equivalent
- Honours degree
Experience
Essential criteria
- Sufficient relevant experience or completion of a finance related degree
- Demonstrably good IT skills, such as Excel as a regular user
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working in NHS Finance or other Public Sector organisation
- Experience of Integrated ledger systems
- Access Database skills

- High degree of numeracy
- Concentrations skills to undertake complex and involved analysis
