Job overview
Are you interested in joining the Maternity Services based at the Royal United Hospitals Bath to work within the Antenatal Screening Team as an Antenatal Screening Administrator.
This administrative and clerical role is interesting and varied. It provides opportunities for both liaising with other agencies, team working and managing your own time efficiently to ensure that the high standards of our screening service are maintained.
You will need to have good IT skills, knowledge of the antenatal screening programmes and have the ability to work under pressure and be able to multi-task.
Our team consists of specialist screening midwives, screening champions and midwife support workers and between us we will train and support the successful candidate.
The hours are 15 hours per week across Monday to Friday, days and flexible start and finish times can be negotiated, but will need to work in with the needs of the service.
Main duties of the job
To provide an efficient and professional administrative and clerical service which enables the smooth and efficient running of the antenatal and maternity screening departments.
Provide relevant information to patients and relatives clearly and in a way that they understand.
To answer all telephone enquiries, taking and relaying messages in a polite and helpful manner, taking action as appropriate.
To liaise with other members of the departmental team obtaining and communicating necessary information accurately to assist the provision of a quality service for the patients.
To maintain patient details /appointments on the patient administration system efficiently so that there is timely and accurate information available at all times on patients.
To track patient records using differing electronic databases.
To maintain and update the electronic patient record as appropriate.
To work with other members of the Screening team to ensure the smooth running of all 3 antenatal screening programmes.
To schedule requests for appointments to the department for patients
To carry out other clerical duties as required
To assist in the ordering of department stores and to maintain stock levels o
To report all accidents and incidents to the relevant departmental managers.
To ensure that hospital property is properly used and cared for.
Provide and receive information that is of a sensitive nature
To manage excel tracking spread sheets
