Job overview
We are seeking qualified, enthusiastic, hardworking, motivated, and patient-focused Sonographers with NHS experience. The post holder will be able to work autonomously within the ultrasound department, accountable for their own professional actions.
We provide a wide variety of examinations including Obstetrics, General abdominal, Gynaecological, small parts , MSK and DVT's . We provide training and education to all members of the team. Post holder will need to participate in any future 7-day service, working across all OUH sites as required.
Main duties of the job
- As an Obstetric Sonographer, you will be an integral part of the maternity service and work closely with the Obstetric teams to provide exceptional care to all patients. This includes working alongside the ANC Screening team and FMC to deliver the FASP & achieve all KPI's within your practice.
- As a General Medical Sonographer, you will be working autonomously and as part of team undertaking a wide range of examinations.
- You'll perform and report ultrasound examinations across both disciplines to a high standard in a professional manner, working within departmental guidelines whilst being accountable for your own practice.
- Excellent communication skills are essential.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- BSc / Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography or degree in a relevant healthcare or science-related subject
- Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound or DMU
- HCPC, RCT or NMC Registration
Desirable criteria
- CASE accredited
Special Aptitude
Essential criteria
- Ability to work as a team and independently
- Good working knowledge of a range of ultrasound equipment
- Ability to organise work load
- Ability to self manage
- Adaptable/flexible
- High technical standards

Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience in obstetric and non-obstetric abdominal ultrasound, gynaecological ultrasound including endovaginal scanning, and some small parts ultrasound
