Exciting Opportunity: Rotational Band 6 Radiographer
We are thrilled to announce an opening for a Rotational Band 6 Radiographer at King's Mill Hospital in Sutton-in-Ashfield. This role is perfect for a well-motivated and flexible radiographer with significant experience at Band 5 level. The position includes rotation across our fully digital Radiology Department and specialized training in areas such as CT or Interventional Radiography, to be discussed with successful candidates post-interview.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dose Optimisation: Ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and image quality.
- Appraisals and Mentorship: Providing guidance and support to junior staff.
- Audit and Leadership Development: Contributing to continuous improvement and personal growth.
Main duties of the job
- Perform x-ray examinations to a high standard, whilst observing the Ionising Radiations Regulations 17 and the Ionising Radiations (Medical Exposures) Regulations 2017 and the Local rules.
- Communicate effectively in an appropriate manner, information to patients and staff concerning radiological examinations.
- Communicate with external MDT teams and professionals to ensure high standards of patient care and an efficient service.
- Be aware of the responsibilities placed on him/her under the Health and safety at Work Act, 1974 and subsequent Health and Safety legislations ensuring that the agreed safety procedures are carried out and maintaining a safe environment for staff and visitors.
- Contribute to deliver and improving a high quality service, by participation in thedepartment's Quality Assurance and Standards setting programmes, and by updating skills and knowledge on a continuing basis and maintaining a Personal Development.

- Significant experience at band 5, including evidence of competencies.
- Broad experience in general radiography to include ED, orthopaedic and theatre work
- This may be supplemented by short courses + CPD.
- Previous NHS experience

- CT scanning, cath lab/nterventional experience or any other speciality experience
Contractual Requirements
Essential criteria
- To work at other x-ray departments within the Trust
- Participation in the on call rota including Christmas and Bank holiday rota
