Consultant Surgeon with a Special Interest in Dermatology

Consultant

Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen and applications are invited for the post of a Consultant Surgeon with a Specialist Interest in Dermatology to work in the Dermatology department based at Prospect House, Kettering General Hospital. This is a new post to oversee and manage the surgical side of our skin service with a focus on lesion clinics and surgery.

We have a dedicated outpatient area within a large medical centre which has facilities for phototherapy, patch testing and dressings. There are 2 well equipped operating rooms which support a strong surgical interest in the department. We treat the majority of all the patients seen with skin cancer within the department. Most of the remaining cases are treated by colleagues within Plastic surgery and Maxillofacial surgery. We are looking for a dynamic colleague to enhance our services and would favour someone with a special interest to complement those of the current service.

Main duties of the job

Duties and Responsibilities

Provision and administration of the dermatology service with responsibility for diagnosis, treatment and after care.

Due to continued increase in skin cancer referrals and the need to maintain an excellent skin cancer service we will be appointing the successful candidate to oversee and manage the surgical side of our skin cancer service with a focus on lesion clinics and surgery.

The job will be offered for 7 PA per week.
