Job overview
This is a replacement post to support the provision of cardiology services at Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB, based at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital. The Royal Glamorgan Hospital has a history of developing high quality innovative cardiac services working closely and collaboratively with our tertiary centre colleagues at the University Hospital of Wales, and in supporting new colleagues in developing their sub-specialty interests.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will support the ‘Unscheduled Care Group’ in providing a specialist cardiology service primarily at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital. There will be an expectation to manage inpatients allocated to cardiology as part of the acute medical intake as well as taking referrals and giving advice to physician colleagues in the care of cardiac patients. As such the post holder will be expected to work closely with colleagues in the cardiology department to develop a consistent, multi-disciplinary approach to the care for patients with cardiac conditions throughout the care group and the Health Board. The successful candidate will also be expected to continue to develop their sub-specialty cardiology skills with the expectation of delivering bradycardia pacing, complex device implantation and arrhythmia management
