Rheumatology Advanced Clinical Practitioner for Princess of Wales Hospital Bridgend - CTMUHB.
This is a clinical role that will support the current team of consultant physicians and nursing staff.
Provision of care to patients referred to Rheumatology and Osteoporosis service.
Main duties of the job
- Clinical assessment/investigation/diagnosis and treatment.
- Lead on service developments and support team.
- Undertake research and utilise evidence based practice to support clinical decisions.
- Provide education and mentorship to a multi-professional audience.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join a well established rheumatology/osteoporosis team at the Princess of wales Hospital Bridgend. The candidate will be expected to be able to clinically assess/investigate/diagnose and treat patients presenting to the rheumatology and osteoporosis service. Use of non-medical independent prescribing skills will be required to support the role. The successful individual will be required to provide leadership to junior team members and support service developments. The provision of education and mentorship will be key to the role, delivering speciality specific teaching to a multi-professional audience both in clinical practice and formal forums. There will be an expectation for the individual to maintain their own education needs and keep an up to date Advanced Practice Portfolio as per HEIW(2023) guidance. Research is considered pivotal to the role- the individual will be expected to demonstrate a clear understanding of the use of research to support clinical decisions and lead on audit and QiP.
An individual scope of practice will be developed alongside the attached job description detailing the nuances of the rheumatology/OP ACP role.
