Job overview
The Division of Surgery is a busy and fast-paced environment providing Surgical services.
It is an exciting time for the division and exceptional candidates are sought to deliver outstanding care for our local population and work with our clinical teams and local partners to develop new models of care.
The Business Support Managers will collect and analyse performance data in order to inform decision making.
This will require liaising with various staff disciplines to organise additional capacity to meet the demands placed on the Division.
The role also has day to day responsibility for the line management of administrative and clerical staff.
Main duties of the job
The Division of Surgery is recruiting to a Business Support Manager role in the Urology Directorate.
You will be part of the division’s operational management team and will work alongside the Directorate Managers and Operational Service Leads/Assistant Directorate Managers to support surgical specialities working closely with clinical colleagues.

Essential criteria
- Excellent computer literacy demonstrated by an ECDL qualification and experience in using a wide range of software packages
- Ability to present data in an informative and user friendly format
- Ability to plan and organise a range of complex activities
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to work under pressure, on own initiative, and meet deadlines
- Ability to contribute to team work, supervise others and lead change through people
- Ability to communicate at all levels within the organisation, exercising tact and diplomacy

Qualifications, Specific Experience & Training
Essential criteria
- Hold a degree in a relevant area or have equivalent experience
- Significant relevant administration experience
- Significant relevant experience of line management of administration teams
- Significant relevant experience of working within the NHS
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge and experience of key NHS related government initiatives
