Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior nurse within the Division of Medicine as a Quality Matron to support the existing Senior Nursing Team.

If you are enthusiastic, dynamic and highly motivated, seeking to drive forward the provision of high-quality care and the patient safety agenda, then this post is for you. We are seeking to appoint an experienced Senior Nurse with a minimum of three years’ experience at Ward Manager’s level or equivalent to join our established Matron team. 

The post holder will report to and be professionally accountable to the Associate Director of Nursing/Divisional Director of Nursing. To undertake this challenging role in a large diverse division, you will need to have extensive experience in leading and managing multi-professional teams . The division consists of many specialities and clinical areas across the 2 sites, and the role of the Matron is vital to ensure that our Quality and Safety Agenda is at the forefront for the patients and staff within our organisation.

  • First level nurse : part 1 of NMC register or HCPC registered
  • Hold relevant degree and working towards Masters level
  • Holds a relevant teaching and assessing qualification
