Job overview

Liverpool Women's Hospital NHS Trust is looking for motivated and enthusiastic midwives to join our  Fetal Medicine Unit. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of experienced specialist midwives and learn about a fast developing area of midwifery.

Candidates will be able to show excellent clinical skills in every aspect of midwifery. Our service is continually changing and evolving to meet the needs of the population and ensure women and their families

Main duties of the job

Fetal Medicine is the branch of medicine that provides care for the fetus (or fetuses) and mother and her family. This includes the assessment of fetal growth and well- being and the diagnosis and management of fetal disorders (including fetal abnormalities) and counselling and support for parents.

The post holder will provide clinical leadership to the fetal medicine midwifery team and provide specialist advice on all aspects of fetal medicine to the multidisciplinary team. They will coordinate the safe, effective and efficient running of the fetal medicine service in the provision of excellent maternity care for women and families accessing FMU services. They will be an experienced resource for learners and visitors to the unit.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Liverpool Women's NHS Foundation Trust is a Tertiary Fetal Medicine Unit, providing care to women and families from the North West Region and beyond.   As a fetal medicine midwife your role will involve working alongside a multi-disciplinary team to develop specialist midwifery knowledge and practices to provide a supportive, empathetic and holistic approach to clinical care.

  • Educated at degree level
