Job overview

Our Community Specialist Rehabilitation Service comprises 2 teams,  which provide specialist inter-disciplinary rehabilitation to patients with complex rehabilitation needs, as part of Cheshire and Merseyside Rehabilitation Network (CMRN) 

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Locality 2 Community Specialist Rehabilitation Team, which covers Liverpool and Sefton region. This is an excellent opportunity to broaden your post-graduate experience in neurorehabilitation/complex rehabilitation in a supportive interdisciplinary community team. 

 Support, learning and development opportunities are available via the the service, as well as the wider CMRN and organisation. You will be supported in your role by the Lead Occupational Therapist and the wider interdisciplinary team with access to regular clinical supervision.

Main duties of the job

You will work as an autonomous practitioner carrying out a range of specialist and comprehensive evidence based Occupational Therapy interventions for patients with complex rehabilitation needs in a community setting.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
  • Registered member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapy (RCOT) and the Health and Care Professions Council.
  • Evidence of relevant post graduate training relevant to complex rehabilitation
Desirable criteria
  • Professional practice educator’s qualification.

Knowledge & Experience

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of working with patients with Complex Rehab needs
  • Evidence of working in an NHS environment
  • Able to demonstrate a range of clinical skills relevant to patients with a broad range of complex rehabilitation presentations.
  • Ability to initiate and apply evidence based practice within a clinical area
  • Awareness of current NHS issues and relevant frame work / quality indicators.
  • Effective team player within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of current DH guidance
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working in a community environment.

  • High level organisational skills
