Job overview
Admin Support for Respiratory Physiology Team
Administrative support is required for 15hrs per week to cover maternity leave.
This is to support a small team of respiratory physiologists in the lung function department at Stepping Hill Hospital.
Main responsibilities would be to book appointments, manage telephone enquiries and scan documents.
Applicants should have good general education of 5 GCSES or equivalent and have skills and knowledge of office procedures.
Main duties of the job
· Process referrals/appointment bookings on the Patient Administration System/SOLUS
· Answer general telephone enquiries and direct enquiries to the appropriate staff or department so they can be resolved.
· Scanning of referrals / completed contraindications forms to the appropriate trust systems.
· To provide admin support by printing work-lists off the Trust Systems and booking appointments.
· Ensure workloads across the department are prioritised and up to date
· Sort and distribute incoming emailed referrals to the team.
· Prepare out-going mail ensuring all patient correspondence has the appropriate paperwork enclosed in the envelope.
· To undertake any other duties which is deemed appropriate to the band when requested by Senior Staff.
· Contact and communication with Patient Access Business Group team, Consultants, Nursing staff, Business managers, secretaries, other hospitals, and all departments.
· Dealing with general enquiries from patients, relatives and other departments.
· Participate in local team brief.
· Personal responsibility to ensure that all scanning is accurately completed
· To ensure that referrals are processed in a timely manner in line with trust KPI’s
· Take responsibility for patients and callers in terms of problem solving and general enquires.
