Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 5 Diagnostic Radiographer to join the team here at Stepping Hill Hospital. Successful candidates will be joining a dynamic and forward looking organisation ideally situated between the peak district and the city of Manchester.

Our fully digital department includes 7 Plain Film rooms, all recently refurbished with the state of the art Carestream equipment.  We also have 2 fluoroscopy/interventional rooms, dental, DEXA and 5 CT scanners. We have 5 image intensifiers which support a range of surgical procedures. The radiology service also provides a full range of Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, Cardiac pacing and MRI scanning services.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will gain a wide range of general radiographic experience, including CT rotation and opportunities for further development.

This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified radiographer to consolidate their skills and develop in their career.

We have introduced a band 6 link grade post to give suitably experienced band 5 radiographers the opportunity to specialise in an imaging modality such as DEXA, dental or cardiac pacing. As part of this they will maintain their expertise in plain film whilst gaining valuable leadership skills.

Ability to participate in 24 hour working patterns is essential as the department operates a full Radiographer shift system

We actively encourage applications irrespective of race, age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, religion or belief, marriage & civil partnership, or pregnancy or maternity. If you require support with your application please contact a member of the recruitment team, who can discuss alternative application methods.

We recognise that flexible working is important. We take requests for flexible working seriously, consider any request we receive and try to work with you, so we can explore if your request may fit with the needs of the service.
