Job overview
The Post Holder will actively support and supervise maternity immunisation clinics, contributing to the delivery of a safe, professional, effective and efficient service. You will support the planning, implementation and evaluation of the antenatal immunisation programme delivery.

You will provide advice and information to educate staff, service users, and other stakeholders, and adopt a woman-centred approach to public health to improve health and tackle inequalities.
You will support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the antenatal immunisation programme delivery and promote uptake of influenza, pertussis, COVID-19, and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) Vaccination Programmes.
Main duties of the job
Provide day to day support and supervision of the Maternity Immunisation Clinics, contributing to the delivery of a safe, professional, effective, and efficient service.
Provide advice and information to educate staff, service users, and other stakeholders, and adopt a woman-centred approach to public health to improve health and tackle inequalities.
Support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the antenatal immunisation programme delivery and promote uptake of influenza, pertussis, COVID-19, and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) Vaccination Programmes.
Ensure informed consent and appropriate assessment of individuals accessing the maternity vaccination clinics.
Ensure service users with incomplete antenatal vaccination and immunisation schedules are identified, given appropriate advice, counselled, consented, and supported to receive vaccinations.
Ensure accurate documentation and timely recording of vaccinations on all necessary systems.
Advise women on the appropriate gestations and timely administration of maternity vaccinations.
Work with the midwifery team in providing additional knowledge and experience in managing complex patients presenting for vaccination, and awareness of when to seek further advice.
Be responsible in prioritising, assessing, planning implementing and evaluating all relevant aspects of midwifery care to an agreed and expected high standard.

If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £54.50. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary
In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £16.

Essential criteria
- Registered Midwife with current UK NMC registration
- Educated to degree or relevant experience
- Evidence of CPD and/or ongoing education
