The Facilities Support Officer Role is a post within the facilities team at Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust, which has been introduced to ensure that the Facilities team deliver high quality, compliant and effective cleaning services within the NHS Trust.
The postholder will be responsible for training and developing facilities staff to meet national standards, including the National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness, Infection Prevention protocols and Trust specific policies.
The postholder will be based at Trust Headquarters and will require travel across the Trust’s footprint, including Tameside, Stockport, Oldham, Bury, Middleton, Heywood and Rochdale, therefore, a valid driving license and access to a vehicle or means to travel across the Trust footprint is essential.

The main duties of the postholder will deliver hands on training, oversee competency assessments and support continuous professional development within the facilities team.
The postholder will carry out training tasks in all areas including clinical, sanitary and administration to meet the requirements and standards set in the NHS National standards of Healthcare cleanliness and other standard operating procedures. The postholder will provide training on all machinery and equipment in line with manufacturers guidelines and local method statements used across all sites to ensure safe systems of use to avoid any health and safety issues when carrying out tasks.
The postholder will be required to escalate any risks or issues when delivering training and identify any training needs and develop training programs to monitor progress.

- NVQ Level 2 in Cleaning and Support Services or equivalent plus further experience
- Experience of delivering cleaning services. Experience following COSHH and Health & Safety procedures. Experience carrying out cleaning services in line with colour coding. Experience in task related training and electronic training
- Understanding of the National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness and infection control protocols. Knowledge of COSHH regulations and safe handling of cleaning chemicals Knowledge of cleaning methods Competence in using IT systems for record-keeping and training delivery
- Good liaison and verbal communication skills Punctual and reliable time keeping. Understand health and safety documents, such as risk assessments Able to complete training both face-to-face and online either via a mobile phone or computer Able to follow cleaning schedules and instructions Able to work as part of a cleaning team in an environment Able to work alone as required

Knowledge of different soft FM services.
