Main duties of the job

The duties and responsibilities of the post holder require service delivery in a wide range of clinical environments as well as to a diversity of patient presentations and will involve lone working in particular areas or specialities and at particular times.
The service is delivered on a shift basis, working 7:45am – 8pm 7 days a week.
 
The post is a rotational radiographer post. Rotating through CT, MRI and x-ray, both static and mobile units.

Please note if your employment starts before the 24/25 pay scales are implemented you will be paid under the 23/24 pay scales and any backpay will be adjusted accordingly. Essential criteria
  • DCR (R) or BSc Diagnostic Radiography
  • HCPC registration
Desirable criteria
  • IV Cannulation Certificate

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Substantial post qualification experience
  • Knowledge and experience with NHS Targets and Care pathways
  • Experience in specialised imaging techniques such as CT, Interventional Radiology/Cardiology
  • Experience using PACS and RIS and an understanding of its significance for good service management and patient care
  • Experience dealing with a diverse range of patient presentations
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of performing Quality Assurance tests and management of a robust QA program

Skills and aptitudes

Essential criteria
  • Ability to work independently and also within a team
  • Ability to prioritise and organise demands and multi-task.
  • Willing to take direction and learn from more experienced colleagues
  • IV Cannulation experience and administration of Contrast
Desirable criteria
  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of cross sectional anatomy
