Job overview

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic Breast Care Team. The successful candidate will be a dedicated and knowledgeable practitioner, working within their professional boundaries to provide high-quality, patient-centered care.  We invite applications from experienced Breast ANPs and those looking for a training opportunity (training posts start on a band 7 salary until qualified).

This Advanced Nurse Practitioner role will involve working alongside a multidisciplinary team, including Consultants, Nurse Consultant, ANP’S and various other members of the MDT. As an autonomous practitioner the candidate will be diagnosing, managing, prescribing, and discharging patients in the One stop breast clinic and other Nurse Led clinics with the support of the wider Breast Team.

Main duties of the job

  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to facilitate the provision of high-quality care for all patients attending the Breast Units diagnostic, one stop and family history clinics.
  • Provide expert patient care with initial history taking, clinical assessment, ordering investigations and interpreting results within the rapid diagnostic and assessment unit.
  • Act as an autonomous practitioner in managing and providing advice regarding benign breast conditions
  • Maintain the safe remote surveillance of Family History and Open Access patients.
  • Provide appropriate and accurate telephone advice and support to patients who have previously undergone treatment for breast cancer or who may be an increased risk of developing the disease
  • Demonstrate safe critical decision-making in the clinical decision-making process and be able to initiate appropriate and timely response to patient reported cues.
  • Act in accordance with NMC Code of Conduct and guiding documents.
