Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join the Community CYPMHS Service in Enfield Generic Team and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a great location (the post is based at Bay Tree House in Enfield). This is a full-time post, but we are also open to applications for part time/flexible working.
Main duties of the job
· The post holder will be part of the Generic team with Enfield CAMHS, providing assessments and interventions to children, young people and families/carers; contributing to the assessment and diagnostic processes and formulating areas of strengths and needs to inform on evidence-based interventions. In addition to providing clinical supervision to clinicians and trainees, the post holder will also provide support and consultation to multidisciplinary colleagues, professionals and non-professional staff. Enfield CAMHS team is a very supportive, friendly and welcoming multi-disciplinary team with a well-established clinical/counselling psychology discipline, family therapy discipline and child psychotherapy discipline. We are looking for a clinician with a broad range of experience, including experience of working with children and families who present with a high level of complexity, as the work will assess and treat a diverse range of difficulties.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
As part of job planning, the staff member would be supported to carry out the following roles:
· Line Management of appropriately identified clinical staff.
· Clinical/ professional supervision and appraisal of identified clinical staff.
· Supporting the induction of new staff and trainees.
· Carrying out investigations and presenting findings.
Person specification
General
Essential criteria
- Registration with the Health Professions Council as a Practitioner Psychologist
- Knowledge of the theory and practice of specialised psychological therapies
- Knowledge and skills in the use of complex methods of assessment and intervention
- Post-graduate up to doctoral level training in Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy as accredited by the Association of Child Psychology (ACP), This includes an essential personal training therapy of at least three times a week for a minimum of three years.
Desirable criteria
- Skills in undertaking Quality Improvement projects
- Experience in carrying out ADOS-2 assessments for ASD
- Skills in providing consultation to other professional
- Doctorate in Clinical/Counselling Psychology
