Our Vision is to provide the best mental health, learning disability, autism and community based services for the populations we serve.
As an integrated mental health, learning disability and community Trust, Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including:
• Primary and secondary mental health care for children and adults including specialist inpatient child and adolescent mental health provision, perinatal mental health, forensic services including low and medium secure care.

Job overview
Lancashire & South Cumbria Foundation Trust recognise and value the importance volunteer support is to us and our patients. We currently have a volunteer role available supporting us at Trust Head Office at Sceptre Point in Walton Summit. You must be 18 years and over to apply for this role. Main duties of the job
Volunteering on award involves a long term commitment (for example 9 – 12 months), and to bring continuity and stability for patients and staff, we ask volunteer to support by doing the same periods each week, which are discussed and agreed by the volunteer and volunteer supervisor.
The aim of this role is to assist the Manager for Personalised Care with the delivery of personalised care programmes and support. Personalised care is based around what matters to a person, and their loved ones. It is a different relationship between professionals and service users, co-producing care, and promoting shared decision making.
Working for our organisation
Volunteer duties may include:
• Responding to enquiries in a polite manner and ensuring an appropriate response is initiated.
• There may be times that you are asked to contact people via telephone.
• Support staff in dealing with administration requests
• Photocopy leaflets for distribution
• Creation of word documents and other media that support team function
• Taking and delivering messages if required
• We may ask for your support to create visual aids, documents and presentations
• Collation of information packs for colleagues, patients and carers, and arranging for them to be sent to out.
• Support, when available, with events and delivery of information to staff
• Supporting with social media, such as taking team photographs and uploading to social media platforms
• Have a good understanding of personalised care, and have a genuine interest in this topic.
• To shared appropriate elements of lived experience to support patients and staff.
For this role applicants must be over the age of 18
A Standard DBS is required for this role and there is no charge to a volunteer for a DBS application.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
