Qualifications

Essential criteria

Vocational Masters (MSc) degree in Pharmacy
Completed foundation year training- pre-registration
Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council
Post-graduate diploma or MSc in clinical pharmacy or equivalent
Demonstrate CPD as required by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)

Desirable criteria

Postgraduate management qualification.
Independent Prescriber or Advanced Care Practitioner
Royal Pharmaceutical Society membership

Experience

Essential criteria

Significant post registration experience in hospital pharmacy.
Recent extensive practice in a leadership role within a hospital pharmacy service at a senior level.
Experience of delivering a high-quality pharmacy service to customers
Ability to effectively manage resources including people, finance and facilities.
Has experience in utilising digital systems and information technology.
Detailed knowledge and experience of the operation of NHS organisations.

Desirable criteria

Experience of clinical audit and /or practice research
Project management

Knowledge

Essential criteria

Excellent clinical and pharmaceutical knowledge relating to promotion of high quality, efficacious and cost effective use of medicines
Knowledge of the changing NHS environment and government initiatives e.g. Integrated Medicines Optimisation, National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE), CQC, Integrated Care System (ICS), Primary Care Networks (PCNs)
Understanding of Clinical Governance and Risk Management and their influence on current practice
