Currently the all consultants share the management of inpatients (Respiratory currently cover a 19 Level 1 beds and a 7 bed level 1.5 Respiratory Support Unit / HDU with a dedicated 7 day / 24 hour junior doctor rota and which is shared between 2 x Consultants at any given time).
The department has a multidisciplinary approach for all sub-specialities, with the meetings led by Respiratory. We are fortunate to have a dedicated consultant led acute oncology service for our Lung service and we work closely with them in managing acute cancer admission.
