Join our phlebotomy team and be part of this friendly supportive team.
We are looking for experienced and motivated phlebotomists to cover all clinics at various sites. If you don’t have experience not to worry as inhouse training will be given. Our clinics run from Monday to Saturday 6.45-15.45 at various health centres in Medway.

- Ensure the community clinics run smoothly day to day. Ordering and rotating stock.
- Effectively collect the required blood sample with an empathetic and caring manner.
- Keeping your statutory and mandatory training up to date and accessing any required training needs
The successful applicant will be expected to work all shifts and travel to all locations: Lordswood HC, Parkwood HC, Rainham HC, Twydall, Walter Brice, MCH house, Balmoral Gardens, Keystone surgery (these clinics may be subject to change depending on needs of service users). This role will perform venous blood sample collection to service users from the age of 2 years and above.

- Educated to NVQ level 2 or equivalent
- Successful completion of in house training including practical training
- Good clerical and organisational skills

- Provide workload and make appropriate level decisions such as when to escalate and ensure this is done in a timely manner. E.g. queries from patients and carers
- Planning and organisational skills
- Organise and prioritise preparation, running and closure of clinics.
- Work flexibly to maintain cover within the service / organisation.
- Maintain effective systems to ensure the service operates efficiently.
- Physical skills
- Able to perform venous blood sampling collection to organisational and health and safety standards.
- Good hand/ eye coordination and manual dexterity for performing physical tests on patients
- Standard keyboard skills
- Use standard office equipment e.g. fax, photocopier
- Responsibility for patient / client care
- Provide clinical advice within scope of practice and information to patients, carers, relatives or staff face to face, over the telephone or by other means.
- Consistently treat others with courtesy and respect
- Responsibility for policy and service development implementation
- Responsible for ensuring that the organisational policies and procedures (including amendments and updates) are adhered to and implanted in own are of work.
- Responsibilities for financial and physical resources
- Manage stock / office stationery

- Act as a buddy demonstrating own are of work to new or less experienced employees such as apprentices or volunteers.

- Will be required to undertake surveys and audits when requested in own area of work
