Patient Pathway Coordinator

Band 3

Job overview

Do you have what it takes to coordinate a patient pathway? Are you organised with good communication skills? Do you enjoy working in a busy but rewarding role?

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the rapid access TIA (Transient Ischaemic Attack) Services across East Kent. We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic person with a high standard of organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload to coordinate the TIA service across East Kent.

PLEASE NOTE: PREVIOUS APPLICANTS NEED NOT APPLY.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will need to have good IT and database skills, minute taking skills and a professional telephone manner.

You will be working with a wide range of people and communicating with both patients and staff, so effective interpersonal skills are essential.

You must work well as part of a team, whilst also having the ability to use your own initiative and work well under pressure.

Knowledge of the TIA and Stroke services within East Kent and experience in the use of hospital based IT systems would be an advantage.

It is expected that the post holder may work across all hospitals within East Kent Hospitals University Foundation Trust as an element of the role, and to be flexible in their hours. You will be required to work weekends and bank holidays on a rotational basis to provide support for our 365 day a year service.

Working for our organisation

We are one of the largest hospital trusts in England, with five
hospitals and community clinics serving a local population of around 800,000 people. Our vision is 'great healthcare from great people'. Everything we do is guided by our values: 'People feel cared for, safe, respected and confident that we are making a difference’. We have a new way of working at East Kent Hospitals, called 'We care'. It's about empowering frontline staff to lead improvements day-to-day. We're looking for compassionate people to be part of our improvement journey for the patients, families and carers we care for every day.

Please be aware that if you require a Certificate of Sponsorship to work in the UK, you must declare this on your application form, even if you currently hold a Certificate of Sponsorship or a work permit for another role and are already working in the country.

As of 9th April, we can only sponsor candidates for a Skilled Worker Visa for band 2/3 roles if we can demonstrate that we were unsuccessful in recruiting a candidate who does not require a visa. Given this change, it is unlikely that we will be able to sponsor any candidates for a Skilled Worker Visa for this role.
