Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The Dietetic Team consists of 26 Dietitians with 6 Dietetic Support Staff providing a service to both acute and community settings and therefore opportunity to work alongside the acute team as well as the community team. We are also supported by secretarial and administrative staff. You will have access to regular supervision and have opportunities to undertake continuing professional development through work shadowing, tutorials and courses as identified by your training needs and objectives.

We are a well- recognised department for student training in partnership with the University of Hertfordshire and you will have an active role in supporting this programme. The trust is also committed with AHP research and has recently gained resource to support this within the trust.

Essential criteria

• Significant post-registration experience in a range of clinical areas
• Experience of working as a Dietitian on hospital wards including working with patients on enteral and parenteral nutrition
• Portfolio of evidence of CPD

Desirable criteria

• Experience of working on surgical wards
• Experience of working with patients requiring ventilator support (e.g NIV, CPAP)

Qualifications

Essential criteria

• Degree / Postgraduate Diploma in Dietetics
• Registration with Health Professions Council
• Member of British Dietetic Association

Desirable criteria

• Member of Special Interest Group
• Leadership qualifications e.g. LEO and Supervisory Skills
• Evidence of other post registration education and training e.g.PENG, counselling skills
