Job overview
We are looking for a dynamic, proactive ward clerk to join our team. Good interpersonal, communication and IT skills are essential. You will need to be conscientious with excellent time management and an ability to work both under direction and on your own initiative.
Main duties of the job
To provide day-to-day clerical support to facilitate the smooth running of the ward under the direction and supervision of senior colleagues.
· You will need to have excellent communication skills as this role involves greeting staff, patients and visitors.
Manage the day-to-day ward administration, ensuring that correct procedures are implemented and monitored.
To use own initiate to maintain stationary stocks, answer queries and forward relevant communication to staff.
To maintain notes and records systems ensuring that all notes are compiled in the correct order and in a timely fashion.
Order supplies and equipment using the Trust procurement system under the guidance of the Ward Sister.
To be responsible for accurate data entry of patient information to comply with Trust Objectives/Guidelines.
To monitor all patient data and ensure that we are compliant with accurate national data collection.
To accurately record and distribute minutes of monthly Neonatal Integrated and ward meetings.
