DCHS Podiatry Team are looking to welcome a Highly Specialist Podiatrist with an interest in Biomechanics/MSK in Derby and South Derbyshire.

The perfect match for our team will work as a Biomechanics/MSK clinical specialist in the Derby and South Derbyshire locality of DCHS Podiatry.
The person who joins us will be responsible for the treatment and management of complex and specialised Biomechanical/MSK caseloads and provide specialist podiatry advice to the Community Podiatry Team, including Biomechanical input into acute and preventative wound care.
You will be part of a highly motivated team, providing a high standard of clinical care in highly specialised areas and having at least three years registration.
· As part of the Podiatry Team and Wider Trust, you will contribute to the development of and adhere to the Podiatry Department and Trusts' policies, strategies and objectives.
Main duties of the job
To act as a Biomechanical/MSK clinical foot specialist for the Community Podiatry Team in Derby and South Derbyshire.
To be responsible for the podiatric assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, delivery and evaluation of biomechanical interventions, which may involve:
Strengthening and stretching exercise programs.
Strapping techniques.
Neurological assessment.
Advanced casting techniques
Prescription, chairside manufacture, issue and evaluation of a wide range of orthotic devices.
Steroid Injections.
Liaison with DCHS Podiatric Surgery and Interdisciplinary Wound Clinic.
To follow uni and multi professional guidelines on evidence-based practice in the care of patients with biomechanical pathologies and in the care of patients with diabetes and other medical conditions which may impact on foot health.
To be actively involved in the provision of foot health education and advice to patients, relatives and carers and to participate in foot health training where appropriate.
To participate in the observational placement of Student Podiatrists and other Health Professionals.
To follow Departmental and Trust Policies and Procedures and Guidelines but have the discretion to make own clinical diagnosis and decisions within professional guidelines. To be responsible for the maintenance of high standards of clinical hygiene, stock and equipment control within the premises used for work.
