Derbyshire Community Health Services Podiatry Team wants to hear from you!
We are looking for enthusiastic Podiatry Apprentices to join our Podiatry Service in Derby and Derbyshire. What can DCHS Podiatry offer you?
- The opportunity to complete a Podiatry Degree at university (fully funded) whilst working for the Podiatry Department as an apprentice.
- The opportunity to work in varied settings across Derby and South Derbyshire, including Hospitals, Health Centres and patient’s homes.
- The opportunity to provide a quality, good value service to a wide variety of patient types and develop working relationships with other services, trusts and our Podiatric Surgery team.
- An annual appraisal and personal development plan. DCHS pledges to engage, involve and support staff to reach their full potential.
- Supportive Mentorship and CPD arranged by the Podiatry Service in addition to the essential learning required by the trust.
- To become part of our Team. To have involvement in team meetings and the opportunity to make valuable contributions to the team meetings, staff forums and via Staff Surveys and Pulse Checks.
- We have an opportunity currently for 4 full time apprentices.
Main duties of the job
Podiatry Apprenticeship - attend Huddersfield University 3 days per week - fully funded.
Work with in Podiatry Department remaining 2 days (on the job training and tasks appropriate to role and banding)
Payment for trainees, where periods of training last
for between one and four years, pay will be adjusted as follows:
Up to 12 months prior to completion of training: 75 per cent of the pay band maximum of the fully qualified rate;
More than one but less than two years prior to completion of training. 70 per cent of the pay band maximum of the qualified rate;
More than two but less than three years prior to completion of training: 65 per cent of the pay band maximum for the qualified rate;
More than three years from completion of training: 60 per cent of the pay band maximum for the qualified rate.

Education
Essential criteria
- Level 3 Qualification
- GCSE English Language or Literature, and Maths at grade 4 or above
- See person spec for alternative Qualifications
- Some level of study must have been completed within the last 6 years
Other requirements
Essential criteria
- Full Driving Licence or ability to travel between locations on a daily basis to meet workload
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working with members of the public
- An understanding of the Podiatry Profession
