Job overview
An exciting opportunity has risen to join the phlebotomy team. If you are enthusiastic about patient care and have a desire to work in a supportive, compassionate, and dedicated team then this is the role for you.
The phlebotomy service is based across both Warrington & Halton hospital sites, some General practitioners in Runcorn and several Health hubs within these areas.
This is 20 hours a week contract, the core hours will be from 7am until 8pm Monday to Sunday 7 days a week.
Salary
£11.45p per hour, £11,937 per annual pro rata working 20 hours a week, subject to satisfactory personal development and performance.
Weekend working is on a rotation basis to support the service demands.

Main duties of the job
Your main duties of the post will be the collection of blood samples by venepuncture and capillary on both adults and children.
The successful candidate must be computer literate, knowledge of Lorenzo would be an advantage, but it is not essential as full training will be given.
There will be additional duties such as some clerical and housekeeping duties.
The effective candidate will need to provide a prominent level of customer care service and possess excellent communication skills with patients, staff, and managers.
All applicants are expected to possess good teamwork qualities, be forward thinking with willingness to learn new skills
The candidates must have a flexible approach to working hours to meet service level requirements and needs.
Phlebotomy experience is highly desirable; however, phlebotomy training can be given, qualification gained on completion of training.

Our phlebotomy team is currently expanding due to service needs and giving staff new opportunities regarding progression to a Band 3 depending on skill mix and availability.
