Job overview

We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to become part of our team at East Cheshire Pharmacy Department

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team of Assistant Technical Officers within the Pharmacy department. You will provide safe, timely, appropriate and high quality pharmaceutical services for patients and staff and assist in the distribution of medicines to the hospital wards and clinics throughout the Trust.

This post is Permanent 

Hours per week: 37.5

 

Main duties of the job

To assist in the delivery of pharmaceutical care to patients at East Cheshire NHS Trust through the provision of a safe, efficient and effective dispensary and distribution service.

This will include:

Providing a ward stock top up service - issuing, picking, checking and packing medicine orders.

Pharmacy reception cover.

Dispensary cover.

Coordinating the stores team and workload to help to ensure an efficient service.

Working under our Wholesaler Dealer License to provide stock services to external customers.

Goods receipt* - checking orders, receiving goods on system and putting on shelf/in robot. Reporting and investigating discrepancies.

Bulk fluid picking and packing.*

*Please note this requires a high level of manual handing and the role is physically demanding.  You must consider whether you will be suitable for this type of role before applying.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • NVQ 2 Pharmacy Services
  • Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent qualification) including Maths and English at level C or above.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous experience working in Pharmacy
Desirable criteria
  • Previous Hospital Pharmacy Experience

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Ability to carry out manual handling tasks
