Job overview

Mid Cheshire NHS Hospitals Foundation Trust will develop a new health and care neighbourhood, which will include our new Leighton Hospital in Crewe. You could be part of our programme, as a Digital Project Manager, where you will play a crucial role in our digital programme.  You will manage several initiatives, deliverables and projects to support the development of a digitally enabled system, which can support a transformation in the way we deliver care. You will drive projects, activities and deliverables within the programme, working closely with the programme team to ensure success.

Main duties of the job

·         Deliver programme activities to discover existing pathways of care, understand the capabilities of the digital solutions, design and assure transformed pathways of care and support the ability and willingness of stakeholders to adopt the new ways of working.

·         Document all aspects of the transformation activities, producing blueprints where opportunities allow.

·         Create and lead own Project Delivery Group, ensuring key processes are followed.

·         Apply methods of nurturing a culture of change excellence.

·         Support the reporting of progress to all key stakeholders, escalating issues, risks and programme decisions within the remit of Transformation as required.

·         Deliver responsibilities within the agreed time and financial constraints.

·         Working proactively to support and monitor system adoption and benefits realisation.

·         Support the new ways of working compliance with the DCB0160 Clinical Safety Standards.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

·         The Digital Project Manager is responsible for new ways of working stakeholder liaison.

·         The Digital Project Manager will identify all risks to quality and/or highest standards of workforce experience.

·         Develop and maintain sustainable working relationships with key stakeholders.

·         Ensure that relevant best practice methodologies are applied.

·         Provide, receive, process, summarise, interpret and effectively communicate highly complex, sensitive and contentious information.

·         Engage constructively and effectively using appropriate channels.

·         Demonstrate effective stakeholder management across different departments and at all levels.

·         Support a strong pace of change.

·         Represent the programme at internal meetings, presenting information effectively including through presentations and written reports.

·         Support adequate testing and assurance of the solution.

·         Conduct benchmarking of staff digital capabilities to create a culture of change readiness and long-term adoption.

Person specification

Qualifications knowledge and experience

Essential criteria
  • Educated to Masters level or equivalent level of experience.
  • Knowledge and awareness of change management tools and techniques.
  • Experienced in business process mapping and value mapping methodologies to a recognised standard.
  • Knowledge of modern transformation change / Quality Improvement methods, acquired through equivalent experience or training (e.g. Bridges’ transitional model, Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle, etc.)
  • Proven experience of working within a transformation team with successful outcomes in a complex development environment involving infrastructure projects.
Desirable criteria
  • Change management qualification e.g. Change Management Certificate.
  • Experience of NHS regulatory processes, governance and strategic programme reporting.
  • Experience of delivery within a complex and challenging programme.

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Track record of effective engagement and partnership working with internal stakeholders.
  • Strong drive for performance and improvement.
  • Sound political judgment and sensitivity when dealing with stakeholders at all levels. Flexible and resilient approach, able to work under pressure.
  • Excellent business analysis skills: able to produce metrics, analyse and interpret information and produce regular reports on current status, trend analysis and service improvement.
